My name is Tolga Akdemir and I was admitted to the bar in 2022. Before that, I worked in the judiciary for over four years.

I am married and live in Riedstadt near Darmstadt together with my wife and our two young daughters.

My main areas of practice are criminal law, white collar and compliance matters. I have particular expertise in all areas of general criminal law (including criminal traffic law), in juvenile criminal law and in white collar criminal law.

I studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from October 2010 to January 2016, specializing in criminology, juvenile criminal law and the penal system. From March 2016 to March 2018, I was a trainee lawyer and worked in a white collar criminal law department of the public prosecutor’s office in Wiesbaden, in an international commercial law firm and at a civil senate of the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main.

In July 2018, I was appointed as a judge in Baden-Württemberg on probation and initially worked as a public prosecutor ( among other areas in the field of juvenile criminal law) and then as a judge in two civil chambers of the Ellwangen Regional Court (among other areas in the fields of insurance law, private construction law and public liability law). At the beginning of 2021, I moved to the Hessian judiciary and worked there again as a public prosecutor, mainly in a white collar crime department. Here, I focused on insolvency and subsidy criminal law cases as well as criminal competition law proceedings and allegations of breach of trust and fraud.

I am fluent in English and Turkish.

I am also a qualified information technology assistant and a member of the German Bar Association (Frankfurter Anwaltsverein e.V.) and the Young Lawyers Forum working group.

In addition to my main job, I create and update online courses on topics related to legal education. My first project is an almost 4-hour online course on the topic ” Trial service at the public prosecutor’s office” (youra.info).
